Common Thread
My first knitting book
is now available for pre-order.
Published by amirisu
Common Thread is the first knitting pattern book by Paris-based Japanese designer Rui Yamamuro, published by amirisu.
The title Common Thread brings together several meanings: something shared or running through different things, an underlying connection, and the single thread at the heart of knitting. It expresses Rui’s warm hope that, through yarn, people can connect with one another, and that the handwork of the past can continue to be carried into the future.
The book features 12 patterns to enjoy throughout the year, including sweaters, cardigans, skirts, a vest, and trousers. Drawing on Rui’s background in garment making, each design reflects a refined sense of construction and a thoughtful approach to structure, combined with the ease and comfort inspired by everyday life in Paris.
We hope you will enjoy discovering these designs and bringing them to life with your own hands.
