Sillage takes its name from the French word sillage, referring to the subtle trail or lasting impression left in the wake of something beautiful. A light, understated summer top that celebrates texture, drape, and the quiet beauty of linen. Designed for warm-weather wear, Sillage can be layered over a swimsuit on holiday or paired with your favorite trousers or skirt for everyday life. Worked seamlessly from the top down, the body length can easily be adjusted to suit your own style and proportions. If worked in a soft mohair or alpaca blend, Sillage becomes a light layering piece for cooler months. It starts with I-cord straps, from which the front and back are worked flat separately. The pieces are then joined at the underarm, and the body is worked in the round to the hem, creating a clean, uninterrupted silhouette.

This pattern has been technically edited and test knitted.

  3.5 mm US 4 60 cm 24” or longer circular needle, 3 mm US 2 ½ 60 cm 24” circular or double-pointed needles

  Gauge
  24 sts and 34 rows = 10 cm 4” in Stockinette stitch with 3.5 mm US 4 needles (after wet blocking)
  Make sure to knit a swatch to check your gauge. If you can’t obtain the correct gauge, adjust needle sizes.

  This top is designed to be worn with approximately −5 to + 5 cm −2 to + 2” of ease, depending on your fit preference. The sample is a size 1, worn with 4.5 cm 1 ¾” of negative ease. The model in the photo is 1 m 63 5’4” tall with a bust circumference of 80 cm 31 ½“.
