Alltags Sweater

The Alltags Sweater is a sweater with a simple design, and is easy to knit and can be worn every day (this is the signification of the German word alltags) without any hesitation. Two strands of cotton and cashmere yarn are knitted together in a loose gauge with 5.5 mm US 9 needles. First, the yoke is worked back and forth while increasing stitches at the front edges and for the back and fronts. Then, the fronts are joined and the yoke is worked in the round, increasing the shoulder stitches. The sleeves are separated at the underarm and the body and sleeves are worked separately in the round to the hem. To finish, the collar stitches are picked up and worked in the round.

This pattern has been technically edited and test knitted.

  Size Guide
  This pullover is designed to be worn with 15-40 cm (6-15 ¾”) positive ease. The sample is a size 3, worn with 35.5 cm (14”) of positive ease. The model in the photo is 1 m 63 (5’4”) tall with a bust circumference of 80 cm (31 ½“).

  Make sure to knit a swatch to check your gauge. If you can’t obtain the correct gauge, adjust needle sizes.
